What is a sandarbha?
Sandarbha means context — the frame through which truth becomes clear. Shat means six. Together: six angles of inquiry, each one zooming closer to the same destination. These are not Jiva Goswami’s private ideas. They are the collected discussions and realizations of all the Vrindavan Goswamis — Rupa, Sanatana, Gopal Bhatt — compiled and preserved by Jiva before they were lost forever.
Why Jiva wrote them ?
1. The philosophy was scattered
Rupa and Sanatana’s books spread the teaching across many texts. There was no single place that laid it all out. Jiva made it answerable.
2.Bhakti was being faked
The Sahajiya movement had flooded Vrindavan — weeping, dancing, calling it devotion. Jiva cut it away with philosophy. Bhaktivinoda Thakur later walked all of Vrindavan and said not one person had truly read these books. It showed.
3.Scholars were not taking it seriously
Learned people dismissed the movement as having no philosophy. Jiva wrote in rigorous Sanskrit with Nyaya logic. Today these texts are studied at Oxford..
4.He was preserving what was being lost
As the senior Goswamis passed away, their realisations risked vanishing with them. Jiva compiled everything before it was gone.

Tatva Sandarbha
Which scripture is the highest authority?
The Bhagavatam — proven, not just claimed. Every argument that follows stands on this ground.
Bhagavat Sandarbha
Who is God, according to the Bhagavatam?
Personal, not formless. God has form, qualities, and relationships. The palace is not empty — a real king lives there.
Paramatma Sandarbha
How does God govern the universe from His abode?
Through His Paramatma expansion — in every heart, every atom — impartially, perfectly. The whole creation exists to guide souls back. No one is abandoned.
Krishna Sandarbha
Among all divine forms, who is the original?
Krishna — svayam Bhagavan, the source from whom all others expand. Not one avatar among many. The king himself.
Bhakti Sandarbha
How does one reach a personal God?
Only through bhakti. Knowledge and ritual assist — but cannot complete the journey alone. Chanting without guidance of guru, without the parampara, produces only a shadow of the name.
Priti Sandarbha
What is Krishna-prema and where does it come from?
It is already within you — buried, not absent. Sadhana and grace awaken it. No one can give you this experience. You were always carrying it. You simply forgot.
