No one can force Him. He is supremely independent. Yet, by His own sweet will, He agrees to be controlled by His devotee’s prem—prema-vaśyatā.
In the Dāmodara-līlā, Kṛṣṇa allowed Mother Yaśodā to bind Him—not by the rope, but by her prem.
But the great secret is:
Do Not Try to Control Kṛṣṇa—Control Yourself
One who conquers oneself conquers Lord.
Control the mind and senses. Become sama-darśī (BG 5.18). Cultivate saintly and brahminical qualities. Madhvācārya, Rāmānujācārya, and Vallabhācārya may use different terminology, but the goal is the same—loving devotion to Lord.
Mahahāprabhu especially gave three essential qualities:
tṛṇād api sunīcena
taror iva sahiṣṇunā
amāninā māna-dena
(CC Ādi 17.31)
Humility. Tolerance. Giving respect without expecting respect.
Among them, humility is especially powerful. Lord showers His mercy upon the humble.
The mind is the cause of bondage and liberation:
mana eva manuṣyāṇāṁ kāraṇaṁ bandha-mokṣayoḥ
(Amṛta-bindu Upaniṣad 2)
Therefore, sādhana is meant to purify the mind, develop good qualities, and remove material desires. When one becomes sama-matibhiḥ sādhubhiḥ and jitātmā—master of oneself—Bhagavān may agree to be conquered by such devotion.
But never think, “Now I have qualified, so Lord must come under my control.” No one can demand Bhagavān. He agrees only by His mercy.
So desire only one thing:
“I want Kṛṣṇa. I want Kṛṣṇa prem—and nothing else.”
If He makes us wait, that waiting deepens longing, longing intensifies desire, and the final attainment becomes sweeter.
The Final Secret
Do not try to control Lord.
Control your mind. Develop humility. Cultivate good qualities. Cry only for Kṛṣṇa prem.
Then, by His own sweet will, the unconquerable Lord may agree to be conquered by your love.
