We usually approach God with a long list.
“Give me peace.””Remove my problems.””Make me happy.”
But bhakti asks a different question:
“How can I make Krishna happy?”
We are parts of Lord. Just as there is joy in a mother giving happiness to her child, similarly, when we give pleasure to Krishna, we also experience happiness. The emphasis is not that happiness quietly enters our heart as a reward, but that our joy lies in giving joy to Krishna.
The devotee’s happiness lies in Krishna’s happiness. When we give pleasure to Krishna, that very act of pleasing Him becomes our joy.
So before doing anything, simply ask:
Will Krishna enjoy this?
While chanting—Am I remembering Him with love?
While cooking—Am I offering my best?
While serving—Am I doing it mechanically or from the heart?
Bhakti does not mean doing something big.It means doing even the smallest thing with one desire:
“Krishna should be pleased.”
And here is the beautiful secret:
When we try to give happiness to Krishna, happiness quietly enters our own heart.
Because the deepest joy is not always in receiving.
